Could have Stella McCartney found inspiration in the fervent purveyors of Chlo\u00eb Sevigny and Kim Gordon\u2019s respective warehouse sales for her Spring\/Summer 2024 Paris Fashion Week<\/a> collection presentation? <\/span><\/p>\n

Irrespective of the collection presented on the runway\u2014though, we\u2019ll, of course, come back to that later\u2014McCartney earned the ire and envy of everyone who wasn\u2019t in the French capital by staging her show <\/span>avec un c\u00f4t\u00e9 de <\/span><\/i>vintage pieces, rare records and The Beatles and Wings memorabilia courtesy of an impromptu pop-up market. <\/span><\/p>\n

The vendor of our dreams, McCartney took over the inner-city locale of March\u00e9 Saxe-Breteuil, which serves local produce and farm-to-table wares semi-weekly to Parisians. Yet on this occasion, the fresh merchandise included treasures from McCartney\u2019s archives\u2014both Stella, Linda, and Paul\u2019s\u2014which were all available to purchase after the show. <\/span><\/p>\n

No set dressing here, but rather a nostalgia-inducing trove of pre-loved heirlooms innate to the McCartneys; one of Rock\u2019s remaining dynasties. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Though Stella once had to work overtime to beat the allegations of nepotism\u2013if you recall, Karl Lagerfeld once said of her appointment at Chlo\u00e9<\/a>: \u201cThey should\u2019ve taken a big name. They did\u2013but in music, not fashion.\u201d\u2014it\u2019s clear the designer has embraced a greater acceptance of the forces that have led her to where she is now. <\/span><\/p>\n

These elements\u2013namely her Hall Of Famer-father and late-photographer mother\u2014served as the impetus of this collection, one that honoured their legacy by sartorially embracing their habitual flair<\/a> from their 70s heyday. <\/span><\/p>\n

Though Paul\u2019s Twickenham Studio\u2019s attire was well documented in Peter Jackson\u2019s recent\u00a0The Beatles:<\/em> G<\/em><\/span>et Back <\/span><\/i>docuseries, the everyday attire of the McCartneys finds new reverence when explored through the contemporary lens of their daughter. <\/span><\/p>\n

Silhouettes ranged from jacquard suits to billowing cape dresses and deliciously Sgt. Peppers-inspired waistcoats. <\/span><\/p>\n

On a technical front<\/a>, the collection\u2019s fabrications used are \u201c95% conscious materials\u201d, including seaweed-based yarn woven into a crochet dress adorned with mirrors or McCartney\u2019s signature plant-based leathers. <\/span><\/p>\n

With Stella\u2019s parents the template for the plant-based, Ottolenghi-recipe-making, Salomon-wearing, Matcha-drinking free spirits of today, it\u2019s only time that their street style inclinations get the recognition they deserve. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s clear that these ensembles are more glamorous than a typical market run would call for, but we\u2019re already counting down the days until the next McCartney muse (presumably Madelyn Cline) stars as the knitted market bag-wielding main character in this collection\u2019s campaign. In our bags? One of everything, please.<\/span><\/p>\n
