While Paris Fashion Week remains the star-studded epicentre of fashion excellence in Europe, Anya Taylor-Joy has given us grounds to turn our attention back to Venice after the conclusion of this year\u2019s sartorially masterful film festival<\/a>. The explanation for this sudden interest in the Lido? The actress\u2019 nuptials to her musician husband Malcolm McRae.<\/a><\/p>\n

Over the first weekend in October, Taylor-Joy and the multi-instrumental musician\u2014who is most notably part of the two-person alternative rock band More*\u2014wed in the Italian city of Venice at the palatial Palazzo Pisani Moretta.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s reported that the couple exchanged vows in front of approximately 150 guests, including Taylor-Joy\u2019s The Menu<\/i> co-star Nicholas Hoult and fellow friend of Dior<\/a>, Cara Delevingne.<\/p>\n

With the actress revered for her character-driven red-carpet attire<\/a>, it would always be the case that the 27-year-old would eschew the \u2018white wedding dress\u2019 trope<\/a> for her ceremony. Instead, Taylor-Joy wore a muted beige gown<\/a> adorned with intricate embroidery, including a bespoke hummingbird and floral motif emblazoned on her corseted bustier’s canvas.<\/p>\n

The dress cascaded from a skin-sculpting bodice into a protruding Princess-esque skirt, with whimsical appliqu\u00e9d sequins and threads of shimmering blue, black and silver spelling out phrases along the length of the gown.<\/p>\n

Notably, Taylor-Joy\u2019s dress also pays homage to her and McRae\u2019s zodiacs<\/a>, with the constellations and sigils of their astrological signs cleverly hidden amongst the layers of soft beige tulle.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not confirmed who designed the dress, but it’s certainly one of the best interpretations of the \u2018unconventional wedding dress\u2019 we\u2019ve seen in recent memory.<\/p>\n

Ahead of tying the not, Taylor-Joy and McRae sat side-by-side at Dior\u2019s Spring\/Summer 2024 runway show<\/a> earlier in the month.<\/p>\n

Coincidentally, the actress also announced the launch of her new campaign with jewellery maison Tiffany & Co.<\/a> at the same time she was walking down the aisle. Talk about a bait and switch.<\/p>\n
