Amal Clooney, the beautiful barrister who has defended victims of war<\/a> and the wrongful imprisonment of journalists, quite literally sparkled all evening at the Albie Awards in New York City on September 28.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old\u2019s floor-length Versace gown\u2014complete with spaghetti straps and a train\u2014was covered in rhinestone netting which allowed her to glisten as she almost floated atop the shaggy cream carpet at the New York Public Library. Her long dark hair was blown out and teased at the top for ultimate volume. (She loves a sequinned number<\/a>.) Her husband George, 62, was by her side in a black tuxedo, the sartorial coupling resembling newlyweds at their wedding reception.<\/p>\n

And while the Clooneys<\/a> were joined by the likes of Cindy Crawford, Anne Hathaway, Kate Moss, Heidi Klum<\/a> and Donatella Versace<\/a>, the agenda of the evening (which was presented by the Clooney Foundation For Justice<\/a>) was less about the fashion and more about honouring those on the frontline fighting for human rights. Namely, the founder of the Panzi Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dr. Denis Mukwege, who treated victims of wartime sexual violence, and imprisoned Iranian journalists Niloofar Hamedi and Elahe Mohammadi who are now facing the death penalty after drawing international attention to Mahsa Amini who died in police custody in September 2022.<\/p>\n

We decided to publish lots of photos of Amal Clooney (along with some other guests) since they each show off her vivacious spirit, one which shines just as bright as her incredible humanitarian work.<\/p>\n
