As someone who chronicles the off-duty ensembles of the celebrity style set\u2014and yes, I\u2019ll even admit to following a few dedicated \u2018closet of\u2026\u2019 accounts on social media\u2014I have a relatively robust understanding of the ins and outs of the wardrobes of fashion\u2019s favorites. <\/a><\/p>\n

However, it wasn\u2019t until I saw an image of Hailey Bieber flanked between Austin Butler and Blackpink\u2019s Ros\u00e9 on the front row of Saint Laurent\u2019s Paris Fashion Week show<\/a> that I clocked a sort of sartorial trickery that happened under our very noses.<\/p>\n

You see, to watch the French luxuriate\u2019s Spring\/Summer 2024 collection presentation, I had anticipated Bieber returning to her tried-and-tested Anthony Vaccarello-designed silhouette<\/a>; an ever-so-slightly sheer, skin-tight, monochromatic, maxi dress.<\/p>\n

Then, I saw Bieber\u2019s look from another angle.<\/p>\n

Her bare back exposed for all of Paris to see, with the dress cut out just below her shoulders to create the appearance of a bolero from behind. I was somewhat surprised.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIsn\u2019t this the dress she wore to celebrate the launch of Rhode Beauty into Canada?\u201d I thought to myself.<\/p>\n

One look through the aforementioned Instagram account doubled down on my suspicion. It was a similar backless silhouette\u2014save for this dress\u2019 suede fabrication and turtleneck finish\u2014yet, this one was designed by Maximilian Davis for Ferragamo<\/a>, debuting in the Italian house\u2019s SS23 collection<\/a>, (also known as Davis\u2019 debut)<\/p>\n

You see, Bieber has secretly made this silhouette the backbone of her going-out wardrobe, with us unbeknownst to her penchant for the backless look.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

In June, she reprised the silhouette in a baby blue color way, wearing a custom-made Fanci Club<\/a> variation to a wedding with her husband, Justin Bieber.<\/p>\n

On the red carpet, Bieber has taken the open-back dress for a spin, too. Let us not forget the boldest bare back moment; her plunging Barbie pink Alexander Wang dress for the \u2018Notes On Camp\u2019-themed 2019 Met Gala.<\/a><\/p>\n

Perhaps we\u2019ve become so accustomed to Bieber sport sensual mini dresses<\/a>, 90s sportif attire<\/a> or Australian labels<\/a> as part of her street style arsenal, that we\u2019ve omitted noticing Bieber\u2019s fondness for the look. And as someone with the social calendar of a supermodel-turned-supermogul, it\u2019s easy to see why Bieber gravitates towards the shape.<\/p>\n

Not only is it super flattering and sculpts her figure, but it\u2019s entirely effortless courtesy of the one-and-done fit while remaining sexy and sophisticated thanks to the daring cutout. Baby\u2019s got back, and Bieber\u2019s not afraid to show it.<\/p>\n
