Taking over TikTok<\/a> with her ‘Used to Be Young’ series, Miley Cyrus has been reflecting on some of the pivotal moments in her life, from Disney kid to global pop star. And in her latest confessional, she reveals the exact moment when she decided to end her marriage to Liam Hemsworth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Revisiting a performance from Glastonbury in 2019<\/a>, the singer prefaced what came next with a warning that the tone was going to be “serious”.<\/p>\n

She then shared that it was “when the decision happened,” to divorce. “Me and Liam\u2019s commitment to being married just really came from, of course, a place of love first, because we\u2019d been together for ten years, but also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could,\u201d she said, referring to the couple losing their Malibu home in the devastating Woolsey fire in November 2018.<\/p>\n

She and Hemsworth tied the knot in an intimate ceremony<\/a> quickly after at the end of December 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe day of the show was the day I had decided it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship,\u201d the songstress continued. The way she carried out her performance despite what was going on behind closed doors is a recurring theme she opens up about. \u201cThat was another moment where the work, the performance, the character came first,” she said. “I guess that\u2019s why it\u2019s now so important to me for that to not be the case, that the human comes first.”<\/p>\n
