The zenith of \u2018The Last Supper Part Two: Entree\u2019, the second season finale of And Just Like That, <\/i><\/a>came less than a minute into the episode. Thirty-five seconds in, to be precise.<\/p>\n

Knowing the preceding ten episodes were just biding our time until Samantha Jones\u2019 fabulous <\/i>return to the Sex And The City <\/i>cinematic universe<\/a>, the writers decided to not let us wait a moment longer.<\/p>\n

At the 45-second mark, Kim Cattrall<\/a> was back where she belongs, in her rightful place as the deliciously quippy and sexually liberated PR executive.<\/p>\n

Cattrall, who famously shot the scene without interacting with any of her former co-stars<\/a>, only lasted 74 seconds\u2014which, as Samantha would attest to, is hardly long enough to keep a woman satisfied.<\/p>\n

But, in this minute of screen time, Cattrall as Samantha proved that we were robbed of the reboot we deserved (oh, what could\u2019ve been!), delivered a Patricia Field styling masterpiece (including a genius nod to SATC <\/i>with her chartreuse Fendi First purse<\/a>), and took us straight back to 2003 with this innocuous throwaway line.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re, of course, referring to Samantha\u2019s reference to Annabelle Bronstein.<\/p>\n

During her car ride back from Heathrow, Carrie<\/a> questions Samantha if she\u2019s picked up a British accent, subtly acknowledging her time in London.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhose Samantha?\u201d Cattrall replied, leaning into her British-Canadian accent. \u201cThis is Annabelle Bronstein. I\u2019m from Ind-ja.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the words of Rihanna: this is what we came for.<\/p>\n

With that one line, AJLT<\/em> finally delivered what we had hoped for the show\u2014intelligent throwbacks to the source material that acknowledges what we loved about the original.<\/p>\n

Who Is Annabelle Bronstein? <\/strong><\/h5>\n

Now, if you\u2019re reading this and were born after the turn of the millennial, you may not have picked up on the reference as quickly.<\/p>\n

For the uninitiated, Annabelle Bronstein is Samantha Jones\u2019 British alter-ego, a character introduced in a season six episode of SATC <\/i>released exactly 20 years ago to the day. The mastermind of it all!<\/p>\n

In the episode, entitled \u201cBoy, Interrupted\u201d, Samantha pretends to be after running into British socialite Phoebe (played by Geri Halliwell nonetheless), who boasts about the merits of Soho House\u2019s exclusive rooftop pool.\u00a0 <\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat else can you possibly do in this heat except sit by the pool and sip cocktails while they mist you with Evian\u201d the Spice Girl said.<\/p>\n

Desperate to get in, turns out Samantha Jones is also at the mercy of Soho House\u2019s \u201cbullshit\u201d waitlist (as she describes it), so she decides to take matters into her own hands.<\/p>\n
