For those averse to embracing the TikTok-approved \u2018Tomato Girl Summer<\/a>\u2019, allow us to direct you to the subdued balmy staple Katie Holmes and Meghan Markle<\/a> have both given their tick of approval. <\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, just days after the Duchess of Sussex stepped out in Montecito wearing this languid dress<\/a>, Holmes\u2019 put her \u2018downtown darling\u2019 twist on this classic silhouette while out and about in New York. <\/span><\/p>\n

For the uninitiated, we\u2019re referring to the $225 black-and-white striped bandeau dress from Australian label Posse. Not that we needed any further proof that a piece co-signed by both Joey Potter and Rachel Zane was a worthy addition to our summer wardrobes, but this slinky calf grazing dress is proving to be a versatile staple.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just a few weeks ago, Markle cut an elevated figure during a date night with her husband, Prince Harry, to celebrate her 42nd birthday. Taking to \u2018IYKYK\u2019 local spot Tre Lune, Markle showcased her prowess for understated yet glamorous wardrobe fundamentals<\/a> in the horizontal block striped number.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Duchess applied a Los Angeles-approved spin on the silhouette, completing her look with T-bar sandals<\/a> from Emme Parsons, a beaded clutch from Cult Gaia<\/a> and accents of gold jewellery, including a Cartier Tank watch and Love bracelet.<\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n

But proving this look isn\u2019t merely for beach babes and lavish soirees fit for nobility, in comes Holmes and her gritty New York street style. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Still leaning into the relaxed fit, Holmes opted for a more fast-paced aesthetic in her \u2018destroyed\u2019 Balenciaga Paris high-top sneaker and oversized tote bag. <\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike Markle who looked to the clean girl makeup style for her beauty look, Holmes kept things casual and slightly unruly with her hair down. Indeed, a very bi-costal display in styling the same dress. <\/span><\/p>\n

And while the bandeau dress has certainly felt a bit pass\u00e9 since the bandage Herv\u00e9 L\u00e9ger reign in the 2000s<\/a>, leave it to Markle and Holmes to offer up a lifeline for this piece. <\/span><\/p>\n
