There were multiple actors considered to play Barbie (and Ken, for that matter)<\/a> in Greta Gerwig\u2019s billion-dollar-grossing mega-film Barbie.<\/a><\/em> But one really stands out: Gal Gadot.<\/p>\n

In May, Margot Robbie (who is a producer on the film and who ultimately ended up in the titular fluffy-heeled role) talked about her desire for Gadot to lead. To Robbie, Gadot possessed the right amount of \u201cBarbie energy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause Gal Gadot is so impossibly beautiful, but you don’t hate her for being that beautiful because she’s so genuinely sincere, and she’s so enthusiastically kind, that it’s almost dorky,\u201d the 33-year-old said. \u201cIt’s like right before being a dork.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gadot, who attended the American premiere of the film in Los Angeles<\/a> just days before the actor\u2019s strike hit, recently reacted to the huge compliment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI adore Margot,\u201d Gadot told\u00a0Flaunt Magazine<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in an interview published on August 11. \u201cMargot is one of those women who you just want to be friends with\u2026 so funny, warm, fun and smart and obviously so talented.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe brings so much to the table,\u201d she said. \u201cI would love to do anything with Margot and was very touched [by her comments]. She warmed my heart with everything that she said about me. I’m super excited for them, and I’m so excited for\u00a0Barbie<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

With characters inspired by real Barbie dolls<\/a>, Barbie<\/em> has made history by making USD$1 billion at the international box office in its first 17 days of release. This had made Gerwig the first woman to have a sole directing credit on a billion-dollar film.<\/p>\n
