Apple Martin<\/a>‘s already be a doppelg\u00e4nger for her famous mother Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a>, and she’s taking things a step further by slipping into one of the GOOP founder<\/a>\u2019s most memorable gowns.<\/p>\n

During a social media Q&A on Wednesday, Paltrow encouraged followers to ask her questions via her Instagram Stories<\/a>. Inquiries ranged from \u201cWhat is ur breakfast today?\u201d to tips on moving on from long-term relationships and the latest selfies from her camera roll. During the Q&A, follower asked, \u201cDoes Apple ever wear any of ur fashion archives<\/a>?\u201d<\/p>\n

The wellness guru<\/a> responded with a photo of her 19-year-old daughter<\/a> standing in her palatial closet, striking a playful pose in Paltrow<\/a>\u2019s Alexander McQueen gown that she wore to the 2002 Oscars<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Over the years, a great many of Paltrow\u2019s Academy Award red carpet moments<\/a> have gotten people talking. Her bubblegum pink Ralph Lauren gown from 1999<\/a> went down in fashion history, while her peach chiffon Zac Posen gown from 2007 and her white caped Tom Ford gown from 2012 landed her on best dressed lists. But none have been as divisive as Paltrow\u2019s 2002 Alexander McQueen creation.<\/p>\n

A departure from her previously quintessential minimalistic elegance, Paltrow<\/a> punked it up in with the glam-goth style moment. The look featured a sheer mesh lace-up tank-style gray top and a full black taffeta skirt, Paltrow accessorized her statement-making gown with a dangling pendant necklace and chandelier earrings and sported a dramatic dark smokey eye and tied her blonde strands up into a low chignon with a side-swept French braid.<\/p>\n

The star<\/a> later admitted she “should have worn a bra,” in a GOOP Q&A in 2013<\/a>. “There were a few issues,” she said. “I still love the dress itself but I should have worn a bra and I should have just had simple beachy hair and less makeup. Then, it would have worked as I wanted it to \u2013 a little bit of punk at the Oscars.”<\/p>\n

During her Life in Looks segment for Vogue<\/em><\/a> in 2021, Paltrow recalled: “Everybody really hated [it], but I think it\u2019s kind of dope. I had a weird hangover about it for a while because people were really critical. I think at the time, it was too goth \u2026 too hard. I think it sort of shocked people. But I like it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, here’s hoping we can see Apple try on the iconic pink Ralph Lauren look next.<\/p>\n
