It’s no secret there’s intense tension between Sex and the City<\/em> co-stars Kim Cattrall<\/a> and Sarah Jessica Parker<\/a>. Their long-lasting\u00a0feud<\/a> has been an ongoing conversation in the media, and ahead of the season 2 premiere of And Just Like That<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>fellow co-star Kristen Davis<\/a> is sharing her thoughts.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do understand fans\u2019 feelings \u2014 that they\u2019re upset \u2026 I wish I could fix it, but I can\u2019t, it\u2019s not in my power,\u201d Davis told the Telegraph<\/em><\/a> in a new interview. Cattrall did not reprise her iconic character Samantha Jones in the first season of the spin-off, And Just Like That<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

However, last month it was announced that she would finally make a brief appearance in the second season.<\/a> According to insiders, Cattrall filmed her “cliffhanger” scene on March 22 in New York City, avoiding any contact with Parker or And Just Like That<\/em>\u00a0showrunner Michael Patrick King.<\/p>\n

Despite her firsthand knowledge of the tension between Parker and Cattrall<\/a>, Davis said, \u201cYou have to respect people\u2019s wishes. I\u2019m not gonna waste energy on it. I can\u2019t change anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis has portrayed Charlotte York Goldenblatt alongside Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, Parker and Carrie Bradshaw, and Cattrall as Samantha<\/a>\u00a0since Sex and the City <\/em>premiered in 1998. Cattrall also starred in two feature-length films continuing the Sex and the City<\/em>\u00a0storyline before declining to appear in a third.<\/p>\n

Cattrall told\u00a0Variety<\/em><\/a> that she didn\u2019t feel the script was doing her character justice<\/a>. Apparently the plot was set to revolve around Samantha receiving unsolicited nude photos from Miranda\u2019s 14-year-old son, Brady Hobbs. \u201cIt\u2019s heartbreaking,\u201d she expressed.<\/p>\n

Cattrall told the publication that after filming the sequel film, \u201cEverything in me went, \u2018I\u2019m done,’\u201d she said.\u00a0\u201cI made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about [And Just Like That<\/em>] like everyone else did<\/a> \u2014 on social media.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, Cattrall made a statement that she and her co-stars had\u00a0\u201cnever been friends.” She told Piers Morgan in 2017<\/a>, “We\u2019ve been colleagues and in some ways it\u2019s a very healthy place to be because then you have a clear line between your professional life and relationship and your personal.” She also\u00a0accused Parker<\/a> of hostile on-set behavior throughout the initial series run.<\/p>\n

The tension only grew when Parker reached out to Cattrall over social media after the 2018 death of her brother. “I don’t need your love and support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker,” Cattrall responded. “Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”<\/p>\n

Stopping by Andy Cohen\u2019s Watch What Happens Live<\/em><\/a> in Februrary 2022, Parker spilled the AJLTea<\/em> on the first season. “Samantha is not gone,” Parker said. “The actress that played the role is no longer playing that role, but people aren\u2019t absent from your life when you don\u2019t want them to be.”<\/p>\n

Season 2 of And Just Like That<\/em><\/a> will premiere on Max on June
