CANNES, FRANCE: If Paris is the city of love, then Cannes<\/a> is the scene for love\u2019s glamorous rendezvous. On May 19, these particular coordinates along the French Riviera saw Dua Lipa<\/a> publicly formalize her new relationship with boyfriend French film director Romain Gavras.<\/a><\/p>\n

27year-old Lipa, resplendent in a black, one-shouldered CELINE by Hedi Slimane gown, and her new beau, 41, attended the premiere of Omar la Fraise<\/em>, a love story about a gangster on the run, and directed by Franco-Algerian director Elias Belkeddar.<\/p>\n

Nestled into one another in the cool Cannes evening \u2014 it has been raining every day since the festival began \u2014 Lipa couldn\u2019t stop smiling. Her curtain fringe, seemingly as long as the theatre\u2019s drapes themselves, couldn\u2019t conceal her identity from the photographers in the pit. As a smaller film release, none were expecting Lipa to attend and thus many photographers had cleared out for the evening.<\/p>\n

While Lipa and Gavras were first spotted leaving a party together in London in February, and then again on the streets of Paris post the Saint Laurent show at Fashion Week, this is their first official engagement.<\/p>\n

Gavras is known for directing Kanye West\u2019s music video \u201cNo Church In The Wild.\u201d He also reportedly dated Rita Ora<\/a> for six months. Lipa was in a two-year relationship with Anwar Hadid in 2019. Since, she’s been linked to Trevor Noah and Jack Harlow<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lipa is in town for the May 23 reveal of her new collab collection with Versace. Titled \u201cLa Vacanza\u201d<\/a>, it will be available to purchase directly after the runway. So, what can we expect? Y2K accents aplenty, and perhaps a bottling of this unbridled euphoria Lipa is experiencing right now.<\/p>\n
