In the brief gap between the brand&#8217;s former creative director <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/alessandro-michele-departs-gucci\/\">Alessandro Michele<\/a>&#8216;s whimsical reign and before the beginning of <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/gucci-announces-sabato-de-sarno-as-new-creative-director\/\">Sabato De Sarno<\/a>&#8216;s new chapter, the house took inspiration from a new setting.<\/p>\n<p>On a site that has stood\u00a0for over six centuries in the South Korean capital, the Gucci creative team brought forward a collection that embraced where it&#8217;s been, where it is and where it&#8217;s going. Blending signature design touchpoints with clever nods to the country&#8217;s multicultural style, Cruise 2024 was a referential amalgam of aesthetics, expertly honed by the brand&#8217;s brilliant eye.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_233249\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-233249\" style=\"width: 2620px\" class=\"wp-caption alignfull -width\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-233249 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/GettyImages-1490658312.jpg\" alt=\"Gucci Cruise 2024\" width=\"2620\" height=\"3929\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-233249\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Model on the runway at the Gucci 2024 Cruise Collection Fashion Show at Gyeonbokgung Palace on May 16, 2023 in Seoul, South Korea. (Photo by WWJD\/WWD via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kicking off with a floor-length bomber coat and vamped-up Horsebit accessories, the show was an ode to the street style that has made the country a major inspiration for fashion insiders. From <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Karen Elson in a sorbet coat that fastened with a traditional Jeogori style bow<\/span> to a chartreuse gown with a pink jello print by local artist Ram Han, Gucci did not overlook its host&#8217;s rich heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Athleisure and streetwear featured prominently, with skateboards, surfboards and plenty of neoprene present in the collection. Also notably included was a throwback to the brand&#8217;s past with a rejigged iteration of lilac embellished trousers famously worn by <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/madonna-biopic-starring-julia-garner-abandoned\/\">Madonna<\/a> at the 1999 Grammys and designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/tom-ford-reveals-final-collection-for-namesake-brand\/\">Tom Ford<\/a> during his tenure at the house.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, the front row was filled with celebrities, both international \u2014 including ambassador<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/dakota-johnson-gucci-1961-jackie-bag\/\"> Dakota Johnson<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/elizabeth-olsen-emmys-the-row\/\">Elizabeth Olsen<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/saoirse-ronan-golden-globes-2020-red-carpet\/\">Saoirse Ronan<\/a> \u2014 and domestic stars like NewJeans\u2019s Hanni and IU, Lee Jung-jae.<\/p>\n<p>Though the finale surprised with a simple oversized coat instead of the usual glitzy gowns, the look read as a sentimental, offering a warm farewell to one chapter, and clearing the way for a fresh new era.<\/p>\n<p>Seoul has been swarmed by the fashion world lately, with reports of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kedglobal.com\/the-deep-dive\/newsView\/ked202302090012\" target=\"_blank\">luxury buying skyrocketing<\/a> in the past year, in comparison to slumps seen elsewhere. Cementing the South Korean capital as a home of high fashion, designers have flocked to stake their claim, with Louis Vuitton recently showing their <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/louis-vuitton-pre-fall-2023-show\/\">Pre-Fall 2023 show<\/a> at the iconic Jamsugyo Bridge earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead, some of our favorite looks
