Katy Perry loves to play when it comes to fashion<\/a> (her Moschino Met Gala hamburger<\/a> for the 2019 year\u2019s camp afterparty will go down in history). But when it comes to momentous occasions, the singer isn\u2019t one to eschew the dress code. Just a few years ago, Perry was the final performer for President Joe Biden\u2019s inauguration, for which she wore a custom-made white Thom Browne gown with red and blue button accents<\/a> to perform her hit song, “Firework.”\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

For another history-making moment, this time with a palace involved \u2014 King Charles III\u2019s coronation in London<\/a> \u2014 Perry turned to one of the most respected designers to come from the country: the late Vivienne Westwood<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Arriving at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, Perry wore a custom-made lilac suit by Westwood, paired with elbow-length gloves, a matching fascinator and the brand\u2019s iconic pearl necklace. She noted on Instagram, while joking about the viral meme of her confused about where to sit (\u201cI found my seat\u201d), that she was invited to the event for her work with The British Asian Trust\u2019s Children Protection Fund, an organization she\u2019s been working with for the past three years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
