At the 2023 Met Gala, Dua Lipa<\/a> was a Chanel girl for the night. She walked the carpet in the iconic wedding dress<\/a> worn by supermodel Claudia Schiffer during the Chanel Fall\/Winter 1992 show<\/a>. As co-host for the night, Lipa’s dedication to the theme didn’t stop there. The singer’s afterparty look was serving all the classic ’90s Chanel realness and it was oh-so-good, we’re still thinking about it days later.<\/p>\n

Post-carpet and inside the Gala, Lipa changed into\u00a0another\u00a0<\/em>iconic look. She wore a black sheer lace dress originally worn by another ’90s super \u2014 Stephanie Seymour \u2014 on the Spring\/Summer 1995 Spring Couture Chanel runway.<\/p>\n

But, let’s take it back to the reason why we’re here: the afterparty looks. Many celebs leaned into the ultra-feminine side of things for the Met Gala carpet<\/a>. We saw a lot of lace, pearls and bows for a true homage to the work of Karl Lagerfeld, who helmed Chanel for 36 years. (The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2023 Costume Institute exhibit honors the work of the late designer, and the Gala’s theme was “in honor of Karl.”) For the afterparties, attendees traded in their pretty dresses and leaned into the super sexy silhouettes loaded up with tons<\/em> of accessories that dominated the Chanel runways in the ’90s.<\/p>\n
