Despite the Met Gala<\/a> pulling the biggest celebrity names year upon year, one A-lister who had only graced the Met steps once \u2014 in 2016 \u2014 was Margot Robbie.<\/p>\n

But when the 2023 theme was announced to be honoring the late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, it only made sense for Robbie, a longtime Chanel ambassador and muse to Lagerfeld, to step out to honor his legacy. And step out she did.<\/p>\n

Arriving on the red carpet, Robbie wore a black silk chiffon dress from the Chanel Haute Couture archives, embellished with clear plastic and gold metal chains throughout the bodice.<\/p>\n

Originally debuted on the red carpet in 1993 during the French fashion house’s Spring-Summer couture collection by Cindy Crawford, the dress features a black cape that drapes across one shoulder and leads down to an elegant train.<\/p>\n

The material, which knots at the chest, comes down across the statement bodice to add an element of ethereal to the otherwise sexy, sculptural look.<\/p>\n

Wearing her blonde hair in Hollywood waves, Robbie accessorized the look with Chanel shoes and kept her beauty look minimal with a light pink eyeshadow and wearing a glossy nude lip.<\/p>\n

“It’s incredible, obviously the Met is always an exciting night, but I had the great privilege of getting to know Karl to an extent,” Robbie told La La Anthony of the night on the red carpet.<\/p>\n
