WNBA star Brittney Griner and her wife Cherelle Griner have arrived. The couple attended their very first Met Gala<\/a> in custom Calvin Klein.<\/p>\n

While Brittney adorned a taupe suit set from the brand in a satin suit jacket over a matching sheer mesh top and matching trousers, Cherelle opted for an ivory strapless column gown. The Phoenix Mercury player said on the red carpet, the designs are “dripping off of us right now.”<\/p>\n

The athlete went on to speak on the exhibit, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” honoring the late, great designer. “When you think of fashion you cannot not think of him,” she said.<\/p>\n

Brittney was wrongfully detained in Russia for allegedly having under a gram of medically prescribed vape cartridges containing hash oil from February 2022 until her release in a prisoner swap in December 2022. She was sentenced to nine years in a Russian prison on drug smuggling charges before the Biden administration negotiated her release.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the couple attended the 2023 White House Correspondents\u2019 Association dinner, where Griner and President Joe Biden finally met face-to-face for the first time in Washington, D.C. The Griners were invited as guests of CBS and Gayle King for the occasion, wearing Calvin Klein, with Brittney in a black suit and a sheer black top and Cherelle in a strapless black gown.<\/p>\n

King shared an emotional video to Instagram to commemorate the milestone. \u201cIt was amazing,\u201d said the two-time Olympic gold medalist of her meeting with the President. \u201cIt was emotional. That\u2019s for sure. I\u2019ll say that. It was emotional for both of us. It was especially for me.\u201d When King asked the basketball star what stood out in their meeting, she said, \u201cHe kept saying how big of a fan he was of mine and how much he loved the way I played basketball,\u201d she said, which she thought was \u201cpretty cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
