On a windy night in South Korea’s capital city, Seoul, Louis Vuitton<\/a> puts on its first-ever Pre-Fall runway show<\/a> for the 2023 womenswear collection.<\/p>\n

Tapping Squid Game<\/em> <\/a>director Hwang Dong-Hyuk for the scenography of the presentation, Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re<\/a>‘s energetic vision was realized under the iconic Jamsugyo Bridge. At the usually busy location, the French luxury house put on a traffic-stopping display \u2014 quite literally, actually, the bridge was closed for 24 hours for the show. Spanning the Han River, models made their way down the 795m-long linear path as blue shadows and overarching water features encompassed every look.<\/p>\n

From the moment brand ambassador and Squid Game<\/em> actress HoYeon Jung<\/a> stepped out of the tunnel, it was all “action.” Between the shiny windbreakers with contrasting panelling, moto jackets, quilted leather and svelt zip-up jumpsuits, looks were clearly crafted for those riding in the fast lane.<\/p>\n

Geometric detailing, primary tones, and utilitarian motifs were given a luxurious treatment, masterfully styled with clashing textures for high impact and high visibility. Signatures were there, but the sports-luxe athleisure tropes seemed to give them a streetwear edge. Accessories were considered and made for an on-the-go wearer. Nothing superfluous or overindulgent in sight, but rather a curated selection of purpose-driven pieces such as metal carabiner belts, chunky ruched leather boots, structured handbags and roomy tote bags.<\/p>\n

As the show goes on, we see something for every kind of hustler with vamped-up suiting, sumptuous knitwear, fluid co-ords and even a monogram bodysuit with a navel-skimming neckline that we won’t soon forget.<\/p>\n
