Attention, attention: Blake Lively<\/a> will not be attending the 2023 Met Gala<\/a> on the first Monday of May. We know, it’s a travesty! The Simple Favor <\/em>actress<\/a> has been a longstanding staple of the annual ball since first attending in 2008 and we can’t imagine the Karl Lagerfeld theme without her interpretation.<\/p>\n

On Thursday evening, Lively attended Tiffany & Co.\u2019s grand reopening of its newly renovated New York City flagship location<\/a> on 57th<\/sup>\u00a0Street and Fifth Avenue, where she told reporters<\/a> she won\u2019t walk the red carpet on the famous Met staircase. Instead she said, “I will be watching.”<\/p>\n

After being praised for her 2022 Versace gown, she said, \u201cThank you, that\u2019s very sweet. I\u2019ll be wearing that on my couch on Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n

This week Lively has been out and about, making us even more excited to see what she had up her sleeve for the annual gala. First she attended the 2023 Barnard College Annual Gala<\/a> in New York City where she gave herself a well-deserved pat on the back for leaving the house (relatable) for her first red carpet outing after welcoming her fourth child with husband Ryan Reynolds<\/a>\u00a0in February. \u201cI\u2019m just so proud I left the house,\u201d she joked on Instagram<\/a>. Then, she wowed in a brown Brandon Maxwell plunging shirtdress at Tiffany & Co.<\/p>\n

The 2022 Met Gala<\/a> co-chair\u00a0arrived to the red carpet embodying the dress code, \u201cGilded Glamour\u201d and paying homage to the theme of the exhibit, \u201cIn America: An Anthology of Fashion<\/a>.\u201d Opting for a heavily embellished strapless custom Atelier Versace gown, the gold bow bustle around her waist unwrapped to reveal an oxidized green train, which was an\u00a0homage to the Statue of Liberty<\/a>\u00a0which turns colors when it oxidizes.<\/p>\n
