(Photo by Pierre Mouton\/Getty Images For Mugler )<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Known for its ultra-coveted designer collaborations, Swedish fast-fashion powerhouse <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/hm-x-mugler-collaboration-release-date\/\">H&amp;M is preparing for its highly anticipated collection with the house of Mugler<\/a>. The partnership with Mugler creative director\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/mugler-casey-cadwallader-spring-summer-2021\/\">Casey Cadwallader<\/a>\u00a0was <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/hm-bringing-mugler-to-the-masses-designer-collaboration\/\">first announced in February<\/a>, and will include womenswear, menswear and accessories, launching online and in select stores beginning May 11.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the designer and <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/h-and-m-harry-styles-get-the-look-iconic-outfits-shop\/\">H&amp;M<\/a>\u2019s creative advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson sat down with journalist Jose Criales-Unzueta for a panel discussion in New York City to spill more details on the collaboration and inspiration behind the collection ahead of a fashionable f\u00eate that will take place in the Big Apple on Wednesday evening to celebrate the assortment.<\/p>\n<p>The Mugler x H&amp;M capsule collection follows other high-end designer partnerships the retailer has had, including one with <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/karl-lagerfeld-books\/\">Karl Lagerfeld<\/a>\u00a0in 2004,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/comme-des-garcons-perfume-fragrance-sunscreen-eli-russell-linnetz-release\/\">Comme des Gar\u00e7ons<\/a>\u00a0in 2008 and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/versace-after-gianni-donatella-legacy\/\">Versace<\/a> in 2011, among many others. This year, Mugler was at the top of H&amp;M\u2019s designer wish list.<\/p>\n<p>Johansson explained that when she touched base with the rest of the H&amp;M team, she asked who the most interesting brand is right now. \u201cEverybody kept saying Mugler,\u201d she said, referring to both the <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/in-memoriam-thierry-muglers-most-outrageous-runway-moments\/\">heritage of the brand led by founding designer Manfred Thierry Mugler<\/a> and its current offering by Cadwallader, who has acted as the house\u2019s creative director since 2017, reintroducing Mugler to a new generation of fashion fans while maintaining the brand\u2019s original DNA.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_72038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-72038\" style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-72038 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2023\/02\/Mugler-x-HM-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"1811\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-72038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(L-R) Creative director of Mugler, Casey Cadwallader and H&amp;M creative advisor, Ann-Sofie Johansson. (Courtesy of H&amp;M)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The assortment in the capsule will also include a series of special, limited-edition archival remakes, hand selected by Cadwallader to cement the brand\u2019s reinvigorated resonance. \u201cWe could do something of a history of the house \u2013 from the birth with <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/kylie-jenner-vintage-headpiece-thierry-mugler-couturissime-exhibition\/\">Mr. Mugler<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/ziwe-walks-mugler-runway\/\">rebirth with Casey<\/a>,\u201d said Johansson. \u201cWe haven\u2019t done anything like that before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration has been in the works since before <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/thierry-mugler-death\/\">Mugler\u2019s passing in January 2022<\/a>, and according to Johansson, the late legend had already begun drafting a few sketches for the mash-up before he died. \u201cSadly enough, Mr. Mugler passed away,\u201d she explained. \u201cWe were then determined to pursue this and make it happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for why Cadwallader found H&amp;M to be the right fit for <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/hunter-schafer-new-face-of-mugler-angel-fragrance\/\">Mugler<\/a>, the designer said, \u201cI\u2019ve always really believed that a collection should be available to people. I don\u2019t really believe in fashion being for the exclusive few and I think that\u2019s the way that I\u2019m always designing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cEven with the Mugler collection, I try to do many, many tiers of pricing. I\u2019m very happy to make something that\u2019s very luxury and very expensive, but at the same time, a lot of young people are very energized by Mugler, and they want a piece of it. Mugler is so much about making people feel great about themselves, making them feel empowered and feel confident,\u201d explained Cadwallader. The designer revealed to the crowd that he often receives DMs on Instagram from fans requesting pieces at an accessible price and this H&amp;M collaboration is the perfect resolution. \u201cI want people to enjoy it, I want everyone to have it. I have a very democratic opinion about that,\u201d he said. Prices will range from $49.99 to $749.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring strong shoulders, impeccable tailoring, cinched waists and form-fitting silhouettes,\u00a0Cadwallader explained how happy he was to see how closely the pieces made with H&amp;M resemble Mugler\u2019s core line. \u201cMugler is a precise beast,\u201d said Cadwallader as he expressed how pleased he was to see that H&amp;M was up for the
