It’s been Princess Diana fever recently, thanks to season four of <\/span>The Crown<\/span><\/i> and Emma Corrin’s perfect portrayal of the Princess of Wales. But not only has the Netflix series been reminding the public of their love for the late royal, it\u2019s been taking friends and family down memory lane, too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Giancarlo Giammetti, the co-founder and Honorary President of Valentino who knew Diana before her death, posted four images of her on Instagram this week, reminiscing on times she wore Valentino to events over the years and also sharing two never-before-seen photos of the pair on holiday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018TV \u201cThe Crown\u201d has once again reminded us of the struggle of Princess Diana!\u2019 he wrote alongside images of the royal in Valentino. \u2018Here two photos of her in Valentino red dresses that show the smiling and sweet side of Diana.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

Then Giammetti posted two more candid shots: one of the princess wearing a white and pale blue suit and pearl earrings, smiling as she talks with Giancarlo and his fellow co-founder Valentino Garavani, and another showing Diana on holiday on a yacht wearing a pair of colorful bikini bottoms, a purple shirt tied at the waist, sunglasses and small hoop earrings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the never-before-seen image, Diana is smiling at the camera with wet hair and a drink in hand, standing between Prince Kyril of Bulgaria (also known as Kyril, Prince of Preslav and Kyril of Saxe-Coburg) and Valentino.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>MailOnlin<\/span><\/i><\/a>e<\/span><\/i> reports that the photo was taken in September 1990 in Italy, on Valentino\u2019s yacht. It was taken eight years after Diana\u2019s wedding to Prince Charles and two years before the couple\u2019s separation. By the time of the photo, however, their marriage was already breaking down, as we\u2019ve all just seen in season four of <\/span>The Crown.<\/span><\/i> At this time, Charles was having an affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles and Diana had been having a relationship with British cavalry officer, James Hewitt.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Back in September, Giammetti posted a similar candid image of the holiday, showing Diana in conversation with Valentino.<\/span><\/p>\n

The images are a reminder of not just how iconic Diana\u2019s regular wardrobe was, but just how brilliantly she dressed while on holiday, too. Who can forget this?<\/span><\/p>\n
