Gwyneth Paltrow may be one of the most famous women on the planet\u2014but she’s done a great job of shielding her kids, 16-year-old Apple<\/a> and 14-year-old Moses, from the public eye. In fact, the family portrait she shared today to celebrate Thanksgiving is one of only a handful that includes Paltrow and both her children at once. She shared the sweet picture to commemorate her father, Bruce Paltrow, who died 18 years ago.<\/p>\n

“On this November 26th, I was able to visit my fathers resting place (on his birthday) with these two loves of my life [sic],” she wrote. “Happy thanksgiving. Life has incredible highs and lows. Perhaps feeling it all at the same time is the art.” <\/span><\/p>\n

Bruce passed away during Gwyneth’s 30th birthday celebrations in Italy in 2002, following a years-long battle with cancer. Paltrow later revealed<\/a> that it was the helplessness she felt when her father was ill that inspired her to explore wellness and holistic medicine, which eventually lead to her building the wellness empire, Goop<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was three weeks after her father’s death in 2002 that Paltrow met Chris Martin, the Coldplay frontman who she went on to marry and have Apple and Moses with. The pair split in 2014, but continue to be on friendly terms, even traveling together on family holidays with their new partners\u2014Paltrow married producer Brad Falchuck in 2018, while Martin has been dating Dakota Johnson<\/a> since 2017.<\/p>\n

Sixteen-year-old Apple\u2014who is a dead ringer for her famous mum\u2014hasn’t given any indication yet that she’s keen on following her parents’ footsteps into acting or music. Last month, Paltrow gushed about Apple in an interview celebrating the “beautiful” sense of entitlement she has.<\/p>\n

“When I see my daughter with her friends, they are so empowered,” she said in an interview with Adobe’s Chief Marketing Officer Anne Lewnes, according to E! News<\/em><\/a>. “They have\u2014and I mean this word in the best possible way\u2014they have a sense of entitlement that’s beautiful. It’s not spoiled. It’s like, ‘No, we are here for what the boys are gonna get.” We’d expect no less from a daughter of
