May we have your attention please: there’s an update about the The Princess Diaries<\/em><\/a> 3<\/em>.\u00a0Chris Pine<\/a> has revealed that he would be open to reprising his role as Lord Nicholas Devereaux for the upcoming third installment of the beloved film franchise.<\/p>\n

The Don\u2019t Worry Darling<\/em><\/a> actor made his feature film debut in 2004\u2019s The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement<\/em> alongside Anne Hathaway<\/a> and Julie Andrews. Pine portrayed Mia Thermopolis\u2019 rival and eventual love interest in the sequel.<\/p>\n

During the red carpet premiere of his new film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves<\/em>, Pine told Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a> that he would return to Genovia if asked. \u201cYeah. I\u2019m here,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m here for it. Give me a phone call or an e-mail.\u201d<\/p>\n

Disney announced it would be moving forward with the third film in November, after Hathaway<\/a> publicly voiced approval for the reboot. It’s not clear if Hathaway<\/a> officially signed on to return yet, but Supergirl<\/em> writer Aadrita Mukerji has been tapped to write the script.<\/p>\n

In October, Hathaway told ET,<\/em><\/a> how exciting it would be to revive the story. \u201cI would more than entertain it,\u201d she said. \u201cI’m pulling for it,” Hathaway<\/a> shared.\u00a0“If there’s any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work. We would go to where she was and put a green screen behind her and just make it happen.”<\/p>\n

As for Julie Andrews (who plays the Queen of Genovia), she\u2019s unsure if she would join for a third film. \u201cI think we know that it\u2019s probably not going to be possible,\u201d the 87-year-old actor told Access Hollywood<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in December. \u201cIt was talked about very shortly after two came out, but it\u2019s now how many years since then? And I am that much older and Annie the princess, or queen, is so much older. And I am not sure where it would float or run.\u201d<\/p>\n

Andrews added, \u201cIn terms of us doing it, I doubt that now.\u201d<\/p>\n
