King Charles III coronation<\/a> is fast approaching and, like everything in the royal family of late, not without some drama attached to it. Amid the reported struggle to confirm any performers for the event in May \u2014 the Spice Girls<\/a>, Adele and Harry Styles allegedly all declined an invitation to play live \u2014 has been the question over whether Charles’ youngest son, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, would be invited, attend, or be included in the procession.<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago, around the time it was confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s children were now bestowed royal titles<\/a> (Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet), the palace officially extended an invite to the family<\/a> to attend the London celebration. Now, leaked plans for the Coronation rehearsal indicate that if the couple choose to be present Westminster Abbey, they will probably be watching from the sidelines, rather than involved in any other formal capacity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to a report from <\/span>The Times of London<\/span><\/a><\/em>, the schedule, as it currently stands, shows no place in the procession for Harry and Meghan. Also not included in the procession: the King\u2019s brother, Prince Andrew, otherwise known as the Duke of York, nor his daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie with Charles appearing to only be including senior “working” members of the family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Charles’ eldest, Prince William, next in line for the throne, will be in the procession along with his wife Kate Middleton<\/a>. The Prince and Princess of Wales will be bringing their children<\/a>, George, Charlotte, and Louis. Louis was considered too young to walk in the procession for the Queen’s funeral in September, but he is being included for Charles’ coronation. <\/span>Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Meghan and Harry’s children, have reportedly not been invited at all.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In early March, the Sussexes confirmed that they’d received an invite via their representative, but the spokesperson <\/span>added<\/span><\/a>, \u201cAn immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.\u201d <\/span>According to <\/span>The Sun<\/em><\/span><\/a> \u201ctense\u201d negotiations were going on to determine whether they would be there in May or not.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Palace are trying to wrap up negotiations as quickly as possible because they can\u2019t go right up to the wire,\u201d said the source \u201cIt could lead to chaos. It could very well be that it ends in stalemate, and they won’t attend. But the Palace is doing everything in its power to not let that happen. The Palace are organizing two schedules. One that includes the Sussexes and one the doesn\u2019t.
