Michaela Coel<\/a> and Anne Hathaway<\/a> have an exciting new project in the works. A24 will collaborate once again with The Green Knight<\/em> director David Lowery on his next film, Mother Mary<\/em>, as reported by Deadline<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Described as an \u201cepic pop melodrama,\u201d the story will follow a fictional musician, portrayed by Hathaway, and her relationship with an iconic fashion designer, played by the I May Destroy You <\/em>actress<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Turning up the volume on the pop star epic, Charli XCX<\/a> and\u00a0Jack Antonoff<\/a> will write and produce original songs for the film. An original score will be composed by Daniel Hart, who also is responsible for the music in Lowery\u2019s previous A24 projects The Green Knight <\/em>and A Ghost Story. <\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Mother Mary<\/em> will film in Germany. A release date has not yet been announced.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s turning out to be a very busy year for Hathaway. Her film Eileen<\/em> premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival<\/a> in January.\u00a0She Came to Me<\/em> just premiered at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival<\/a> last month. The actress was spotted filming the mid-century chic\u00a0Mother\u2019s Instinct<\/em><\/a>\u00a0alongside\u00a0Jessica Chastain<\/a>, and will appear in the upcoming features\u00a0The Idea of You<\/a><\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Bum\u2019s Rush<\/em>.\u00a0It was recently announced that\u00a0Princess Diaries 3<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is in the works at Disney, and while Hathaway has yet to seal the deal, she has publicly voiced approval for a reboot in the past.<\/p>\n

Recently, Coel starred in Marvel\u2019s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever<\/em><\/a> and is set to star in the forthcoming Mr. & Mrs. Smith<\/em> series at Amazon alongside co-creator, executive producer and co-star Donald Glover<\/a>.<\/p>\n
