Florence Pugh<\/a> cut a chic figure at a screening of her new film A Good Person<\/em> <\/a>in New York City on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

Dressed in Valentino<\/a>, the actress looked mesmerizing in a black and white gown that featured a sheer embroidered top with collar and tie, boasting ample skin with its extended backless cut.<\/p>\n

As if managing to keep it intact, the 27-year-old recreated a similar updo to her recent Oscars hair look \u2014 this time opting for a side-swept part instead of a cropped fringe.<\/p>\n

In the sweetest twist, the actress took her grandma, Pat Mackin, as her date to the event, who also looked chic in a Valentino coat.<\/p>\n

As well as co-stars Zoe Lister-Jones, Molly Shannon, Nichelle Hines, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio and Brian Rojas, the duo attended the premiere with the film’s director \u2014 and Pugh’s ex-partner \u2014 Zach Braff<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, Braff revealed how the film was written specifically for the actress. Taking on the role of Allison, Pugh<\/a> plays a young woman who strikes up an unlikely relationship with her would-be father-in-law, years after surviving the accident that killed her fianc\u00e9.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s been about four years of a lot of loss,” he shared with ET<\/em><\/a>. “So when I sat down to write \u2014 because I had to write, I had to express myself in some way, there was nothing else to do during the pandemic \u2014 this is what came out of me.”<\/p>\n

He added that Florence Pugh was the only actress he had in mind for the role of Allison.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m just in awe of her talent,” he said, describing her as “a next-level actress.”<\/p>\n

“I mean, she\u2019s just unbelievable, and what I was writing was gonna be really challenging,” he explained. “It wasn\u2019t for your average actors \u2014 I couldn\u2019t have written the part for myself. I wanted to write something for her, and I had this image in my mind of that diner booth scene, and I thought of Florence Pugh opposite some legend that everyone\u2019s talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n

While at the screening, Pugh also praised\u00a0working with Braff to Access<\/em><\/a>. “It\u2019s a huge honor to have something written for you. And it\u2019s a huge honor to have it written by someone who knows so much about you, knows how you perform, knows how far they can push,” she said. “It also just means that there\u2019s this great level of safety on set.”<\/p>\n

The couple began dating<\/a> in 2019 and faced immense public criticism due to their 20-year age gap<\/a> before quietly breaking up<\/a> in
