Last week, news broke that top entertainment law firm Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks had been the victim of a data hack where a huge 756 gigabytes of documents pertaining to A-Listers were stolen (Lady Gaga<\/a>, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey<\/a>, Bette Midler, Jessica Simpson and Priyanka Chopra<\/a> were among them).<\/p>\n

The firm notified its clients of the cyberattack, alerting them to the fact that contracts, non-disclosures, private email chains and email addresses had been stolen by a group self-titled “REvil” (who, according to Variety<\/em><\/a>, proved the breach by leaking a portion of a contract pertaining to Madonna’s 2019 Madame X concert tour).<\/p>\n

Now, in a new development, the digital criminals have allegedly threatened to auction off the stolen IP on the dark web unless payment is made. They issued a schedule beginning July 1 whereby they would sell things belonging to Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and LeBron James to the highest bidder – with prices starting around the half a million dollar mark.<\/p>\n

Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks have hit back, blatantly stating they won’t be negotiating.<\/p>\n
