After much talk about Nicola Peltz Beckham<\/a>‘s wedding to Brooklyn Beckham<\/a> last April \u2014 including why Victoria Beckham<\/a>\u00a0didn’t design<\/a> her daughter-in-law’s dress \u2014 news about the nuptials are back in headlines.<\/p>\n

There’s currently a legal battle brewing between Nicola<\/a>, her billionaire father Nelson Peltz and the second of three wedding planners enlisted to pull off the lavish wedding. Nelson Peltz sued Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba and their company Plan Design Events (PDE) in December for allegedly mismanaging preparation for the wedding and refusing to refund his deposit after he fired them after eight days on the job. In the filing, the Peltzes accused Braghin and Grijalba of providing \u201cno service of value.\u201d<\/p>\n

This week, the family is speaking out against the ex-wedding planners for reportedly being \u201cmalicious and mean-spirited\u201d in a new legal filing. The Peltz family described the planners as \u201cdesperate\u201d and attempting \u201ca good old fashion shake down\u201d in Miami court documents filed on Thursday, which were obtained by the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The famous family attached an invoice from the planners which details 10 \u201c18-hour\u201d days, plus expenses, sky-rocketing the bill to $181,000 on top of the $159,000 deposit.<\/p>\n

Braghin and Grijalba responded with a 188-page counterclaim in February against Nelson, his wife Claudia, and Nicola, referring to the businessman as a \u201cbully billionaire.\u201d The women included details of the event plans, including a six-figure hair and makeup bill, and releasing hundreds of text messages of Nicola criticizing suggestions and firing off a list of requests.<\/p>\n

Now, the Peltz\u2019s attorneys have entered a request to remove Nicola and her mother Claudia from the case, citing that they \u201cundisputedly are not parties\u201d to the employment contract.<\/p>\n

The attorney for the Peltz family Michael Kreitzer explained that releasing the text messages was \u201ca desperate effort to distract from their own failure to accomplish anything of substance in the short time they purported to act as replacement wedding planners.\u201d Kreitzer deemed the inclusion of Nicola and Claudia as defendants in the lawsuit as \u201csalacious, meritless and legally deficient,\u201d and described the act to be \u201ca good old fashion shake-down.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the group text with her planners, Nicola insisted that her band wear \u201cplan chic tuxes\u201d and said that the music should be \u201cearly 2000s hip-hop,\u201d rejecting any suggestions of something more traditional. Requesting a \u201cwater aisle and matching water dance floor,\u201d the Welcome to Chippendales<\/em> actress<\/a> also demanded that staff hired by the previous planners be \u201ccut off\u201d saying, \u201cI hate them\u201d and \u201ccan we fire them yet.\u201d<\/p>\n

In one exchange, the star slammed her planners for making an error in the guest list. \u201cLewis Hamilton<\/a> did NOT RSVP. So explain why his names on the list please. We spoke to him. He can\u2019t come so explain why you said he rsvpd yes.\u201d She continued later, \u201cI\u2019m tired of catching mistakes on this rsvp list honestly. When will I get a straight answer on this.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other messages submitted, Brooklyn referred to the planning as \u201ca mess\u201d while Nicola chimed in, \u201cmore like a MURDER SCENE.\u201d<\/p>\n

The planners allege that Nelson wished to \u201ccancel the wedding\u201d at one point, but his wife \u201cbegged\u201d him not to, as it would be sure to \u201cdestroy Nicola\u2019s career.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nelson hired Plan Design Events on March 1, after parting ways with their first wedding planner Preston Bailey just six weeks before the event.<\/p>\n

The family lawyer responded that \u201cthe 127 pages of text messages that PDE improperly attached to the third-party complaint demonstrate that Nicola was gracious and patient in her interactions with the wedding planners that her father purportedly hired.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wedding took place<\/a> on April 9, 2022 at Peltz’s family estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Guests included Eva Longoria<\/a>, Venus and Serena Williams<\/a>, Rashida Jones, Gordon Ramsay, directors M Night Shyamalan and Michael Bay, and two former members of the Spice Girls<\/a>, Mel B and Melanie C.<\/p>\n
