Coming off the back of the <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/schiaparelli-past-and-presence-daniel-roseberry-enchants-with-new-couture\/\">Spring 2023 Haute Couture show<\/a> that broke the internet with its faux taxidermy display, there was a little more riding on this particular show. But it\u2019s ok. Creative director <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/schiaparelli-haute-couture-spring-2022\/\">Daniel Rosebery<\/a> reminds us that the shock factor is a cornerstone of Elsa Schiaperelli\u2019s label.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Controversy aside, it\u2019s clear the couture season was triumphant, with more than a few looks already being snapped up by celebrities like <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/michelle-yeoh-wins-the-golden-globe-wearing-a-stunning-armani-prive-gown\/\">Michelle Yeoh<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/anya-taylor-joy-married-malcolm-mcrae\/\">Anya Taylor-Joy<\/a>. So how does one diffuse the &#8220;shocking&#8221; into something that is ready to wear? All the codes are there; rich gold hardware, anatomical details, corseting, dark-rinse denim and the keyhole motif. But despite the cohesion, Rosebery manages to avoid a sense of compromise.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The particular dilemma for Roseberry \u2014 who is in his third year helming the brand \u2014 is not in struggling to build on the brand\u2019s expectations of innovation and shock, but rather, how to capture the fantasy of it all when expanding to a more mainstream, bankable arm for the business. Having succeeded in spades to revive the sleepy <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/schiaparelli-haute-couture-beauty\/\">couture<\/a> house since his takeover in 2019 \u2014 quickly establishing Schiap as red carpet gold \u2014 Roseberry is determined to take the brand to new heights, referring to his ready-to-wear endeavors as a \u201clong-planned but critical step.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/fashion-shows\/fall-2023-ready-to-wear\/schiaparelli\" target=\"_blank\">collection<\/a>, Rosebery has certainly succeeded in creating something that isn\u2019t just a two-dimensional version of the couture that came before it but an extension of his larger vision for the brand. Particularly in a time when brands are falling all over themselves for eyeballs, whether through shock value, gimmicks or any other virality-generating clout, <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/articles\/schiaparelli-spring-summer-2022\/\">Schiaparelli<\/a> manages to cut through the noise.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
