Pamela Anderson<\/a> has started a new thing. The 55-year-old actress, author and activist has started a weekly newsletter<\/a> of her \u201crambling thoughts, perspectives and hopeful ideas.\u201d This morning, she sent out her first blast and in it, she talks her reader through how she sets up her morning journaling space, a time when she just writes anything that comes into her head. A tool for self-expression. It doesn\u2019t need to be perfect and it doesn\u2019t need to make sense, she says.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve long been interested in how other writers set up their writing spaces. American author Jodi Picoult writes in a farmhouse attic in New Hampshire. Beloved British novelist Roald Dahl wrote in a backyard shed for four hours a day \u2014 two hours in the morning and two in the afternoon. American writer and activist Susan Sontag was enveloped by shelves upon shelves of books as she wrote at her typewriter. Mark Twain edited his work at a billiard table. And the iconic Jane Austen was always pictured with a simple desk, paper, quill and ink. It\u2019s all she needed.<\/p>\n

But Pamela Anderson? Inspired by the literary love letters from Virginia Woolf\u2019s relationship with Vita Sackville-West, and Napoleon\u2019s letters to Josephine, Anderson loves writing about love \u2014 and is a morning writer, her desk adorned with a rolodex, candles, crystals and wild flowers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m up by 5 a.m.,\u201d she tells her reader. \u201cI set the stage for creativity by first lighting the fireplace (I’ve prepped the night before) and spending time with my dogs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI live a baker’s schedule and love to invent healthy treats for my pets, family, and friends \u2014 blue algae muffins, superfood breads, and nutty vegan scones,” she continues. \u201cAs my yummy creations go into the oven, I put the kettle on for a bowl of Matcha or sweet English tea and sit at my writing desk. The smell of baking comforts me, my heart opens, I’m at peace, yet all senses are firing.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Valentine\u2019s Day, Anderson felt it nice to gently coax her reader into writing a love letter to someone they hold dear. When writing her own, she loves picking out the perfect stationary, ink and wax seal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen writing a love letter, it’s nice to set the tone with a heartfelt greeting \u2013 my love, lover, sweetheart, dear\u2026 and recall memories or fantasies that are special to you both,\u201d Anderson writes. \u201cExpress your gratitude for what makes this person unique and use words that come from the depths of your heart. Physical sensations such as a racing heartbeat or a knot in your stomach are signs that your words are true and powerful.”<\/p>\n

\u201cLook to history for inspiration and never give up on love.\u201d<\/p>\n
