Rihanna<\/a> has made her triumphant return to the stage in the most poignant of fashions. On Sunday, the meg-watt superstar performed during the Apple Music Halftime Show at the 2023 Super Bowl LVII<\/a> in Glendale, Arizona and made the moment memorable in so many ways. She took the opportunity to announce her second pregnancy<\/a> on stage and paid tribute to her late friend, the legendary Andr\u00e9 Leon Talley<\/a> through her outfit.<\/p>\n

Rihanna<\/a> wore a giant fire-engine red custom puffer coat by Ala\u00efa, designed by creative director Pieter Mulier. It was reminiscent of the red Norma Kamali sleeping bag coat Talley often wore that became one of his signature pieces. Rihanna’s featured red leather with integrated gloves.<\/p>\n

Talley passed away in January 2022 at the age of 73<\/a>. The pair became friends over the years and Talley interviewed Rihanna<\/a> on the Met Gala red carpet and often supported her theatrical Savage x Fenty<\/a> presentations.<\/p>\n

Talley\u2019s official Instagram page commemorated Rihanna\u2019s tribute with a video of the two embracing backstage at the 2019 Savage x Fenty Show. The caption reads, \u201c<\/em>Living for Half Time – \ud83d\udda4\u00a0@badgalriri<\/a>\u00a0\ud83c\udfc8\u00a0#superbowl<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talley\u2019s estate also posted a photo of the late fashion journalist in his red Kamali coat with lyrics from the Grammy-winner\u2019s hit song \u201cUmbrella\u201d, \u201cWhen the sun shines, we’ll shine together. Told you I’ll be here forever\u2026 said I’ll always be your friend. @badgalriri<\/a>\u00a0\ud83c\udf88\u201d<\/p>\n
