King Charles III<\/a> is set to assume the British throne during his official coronation<\/a> on May 6, but will his son Prince Harry<\/a> and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle<\/a> be in attendance?<\/p>\n

According to People<\/em><\/a>, a palace insider reportedly told the publication that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex<\/a> will, in fact, be invited to the royal affair. However, a source close to the couple has shared that they have yet to receive an invitation.<\/p>\n

Since the release of Prince Harry\u2019s bombshell tell-all memoir Spare<\/em><\/a> in January, tensions within the royal family have hit an all-time high, and there has reportedly been no advancement in mending fences.<\/p>\n

According to the outlet, King Charles is anxious for the situation to \u201ccalm down\u201d before his ascension to the throne. A source close to the royals said, \u201cIt is such a momentous occasion for Charles, and he would want his son to be at the coronation to witness it. He would like to have Harry back in the family. If they don’t sort it out, it will always be part of the King’s reign and how he has left his family disjointed. He has had a reputation as a distant parent, and it would be awful for him for that to continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the promotional tour for his book, Prince Harry sat down with ITV News\u2019 Tom Bradby for the feature,\u00a0Harry: The Interview<\/em><\/a>. The Duke explained, \u201cIt never needed to be this way<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want a family. Not an institution,\u201d said Prince Harry. \u201cThey feel as though it\u2019s better to keep us, somehow, as the villains,\u201d referring to the royal family. He added, \u201cThey\u2019ve shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Duke touched upon his relationship with his father,\u00a0King Charles III<\/a>, and his brother,\u00a0William, the Prince of Wales<\/a>. \u201cI would like to get my father back,\u201d Prince Harry said. \u201cI would like to have my brother back.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Harry and Meghan moved their family to California in 2020, Harry returned home for his grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021, and the couple attended Queen Elizabeth II<\/a>‘s Platinum Jubilee<\/a> and her funeral services<\/a> in 2022.<\/p>\n
