In a new podcast interview, Lily Collins<\/a> has opened up about being in a toxic, verbal and emotionally abusive former relationship with an ex-boyfriend whose behavior made the <\/span>Emily in Paris <\/span><\/i><\/a>star feel \u201cvery small\u201d and triggered feelings of \u201cpanic\u201d and \u201canxiety.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While speaking on the <\/span>We Can Do Hard Things<\/em> podcast<\/span><\/a>, Collins explained during the relationship she was subject to “verbal and emotional abuse,\u201d adding that her ex would call her names to belittle her, such as \u201cLittle Lily.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe would call me \u2018Little Lily\u2019\u2026and he\u2019d use awful words about me in terms of what I was wearing and would call me a whore and all these things,\u201d Collins said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were awful words and then there were belittling words,\u201d she continued. \u201cI became quite silent and comfortable in silence and feeling like I had to make myself small to feel super safe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Collins went on to reveal that even though she\u2019s now in a healthy relationship with her husband, Charlie McDowell<\/a>, who she married in September 2021<\/a>, she can still be triggered by her past.<\/span><\/p>\n
