Over the weekend, Julia Fox<\/a> treated her TikTok followers to an apartment tour, sharing videos of the New York City home she shares with her 2-year-old son, Valentino.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the actress posting the clip<\/a>, it immediately went viral with over 10 million views to date, most of which were people watching who were confused about how small and low-key Fox’s house is given her level of fame<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, Fox has responded to the discourse, saying she\u2019s surprised how viral the video went and that she chooses to live in her \u201ctiny, mice-infested\u201d apartment because she wants her child to grow up humble and with an appreciation for hard work and money.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEven though I could have probably afforded a bigger place \u2014 probably, \u2019cause I am in New York after all \u2014 you know, it\u2019s about having that sense of normalcy for Valentino,\u201d Fox explained in a TikTok video Monday, saying people were \u201cfreaking out\u201d after seeing where she lives and that she doesn\u2019t want her son to \u201cgrow up and be, like, a f\u2013king pr\u2013k.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Fox \u2014 who lived in a one-bedroom apartment in Italy before moving to Manhattan at the age of 6 with her family \u2014 noted that she \u201cgrew up in the real world,\u201d so she wants Valentino \u201cto be in touch with the f\u2013king real world,\u201d too.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really not that deep. This just happens to be the apartment that I took my son home from the hospital from, so it\u2019s his home,\u201d she explained. \u201cIt really is Valentino\u2019s apartment. So, it\u2019s a sentimental thing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Fox also shut down reports that she is worth $30 million, insisting she \u201cdoesn\u2019t spend money\u201d or \u201cbuy nice s\u2013t,\u201d noting most of the clothes she wears are either borrowed pieces or new, lesser-known designers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
