Blake Lively<\/a> has a new film in the works \u2014 and to say we’re excited doesn\u2019t begin doesn\u2019t to cover it. The actress signed on to the film adaptation of the hit book, It Ends with Us\u00a0<\/em>by Colleen Hoover.<\/p>\n

The film will also star Jane the Virgin<\/em> star Justin Baldoni, and according to Deadline<\/em><\/a>, the actor will also direct the project. Based on Hoover\u2019s 2016 bestselling novel of the same name<\/a>, the film is in development with Wayfarer Studios and Sony Pictures. Lively and the author will executive produce alongside Wayfarer\u2019s Steve Sarowitz, Andrew Calof and Baldoni.<\/p>\n

The plot follows a young woman Lily, beginning a new chapter after college when she meets a guy Ryle, who she quickly falls for before her first love, Atlas, comes back into her life.<\/p>\n

Immediately following the film\u2019s announcement, Lively teased a photo of herself on her Instagram Stories<\/a>, debuting a fresh hair color, switching up her signature blonde locks to a deep brunette shade\u2014potentially a transformation for the new movie.<\/p>\n

It Ends with Us <\/em>gained significant traction on TikTok last year and skyrocketed Hoover to be the current best-selling novelist in the U.S., with over 20 million books sold. It Ends With Us <\/em>was the best-selling print book of 2022.<\/p>\n

In May, it was announced<\/a> that Lively and Anna Kendrick committed to revive their roles in a sequel to their 2018 comedy-thriller,\u00a0A Simple Favor<\/em><\/a>. Based on Darcey Bell\u2019s 2017 novel of the same name, the first film follows the widowed, single, mommy-vlogger Stephanie (portrayed by Kendrick), who befriends the mysterious, successful and stylish Emily (Lively). Stephanie\u2019s world is turned upside down when Emily suddenly disappears. Stephanie starts in her own investigation, launching viewers into a dramatic rollercoaster of unexpected twists and turns.<\/p>\n

With a new baby on the way<\/a> and at least two upcoming films, Lively is set for a busy 2023.<\/p>\n

A release date for It Ends with Us<\/em> hasn’t been revealed. Watch this space for upcoming developments.<\/p>\n
