Not 24 hours after the 80th annual Golden Globes<\/a> kicked off awards season this week did the Screen Actors Guild announce nominations for the forthcoming awards ceremony, live on Instagram.<\/p>\n

Echoing success from last night, The Banshees of Inisherin,<\/em>\u00a0Everything Everywhere All At Once<\/em> and Steven Spielberg’s The Fablemans <\/em>lead the nominations with five nods each. The films tied the record for most nominations ever previously set by Shakespeare in Love,<\/em>\u00a0Chicago\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Doubt.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Considered one of the most reliable predictors for the upcoming Academy Awards, the nominations list was also full of many surprises and snubs. While Damien Chazelle’s Babylon\u00a0<\/em>received an honor for best ensemble \u2014 considered one of the most prestigious SAG awards \u2014 but both Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie<\/a> were spectacularly snubbed from a solo award. Michelle Williams was also denied a nomination for her role in\u00a0The Fablemans\u00a0<\/em>as was fan favorite Selena Gomez for Only Murders in the Building.<\/em><\/p>\n

Both Zendaya and Austin Butler<\/a> who won their first Golden Globe yesterday received nominations for\u00a0Euphoria\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Elvis\u00a0<\/em>respectively while Julia Garner earned two different nods for Inventing Anna\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Ozark.\u00a0<\/em>Fans of\u00a0The White Lotus\u00a0<\/em>would be pleased to learn that the second season has been nominated for outstanding ensemble, meaning Jennifer Coolidge will make a return to the red carpet (she’s in the running for Best Speech in our books following the Golden Globes).\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
