Prince Harry is continuing to tell his side of the story in a new set of interviews ahead of the release of his forthcoming tell-all memoir Spare<\/em><\/a>. The Duke of Sussex is set to appear on CBS\u2019s 60 Minutes<\/em> with journalist Anderson Cooper on Sunday, Jan. 8, where he’ll open up about the rift in the royal family.<\/p>\n

The launch follows his bombshell Netflix documentary<\/a> with wife Meghan Markle<\/a>, Harry & Meghan<\/em><\/a>, where the couple shared their side of the story including their relationship, marriage and the fallout they experienced after they stepped down as working members of the royal family.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery single time I\u2019ve tried to do this privately, there have been briefings, and leakings, and planting of stories against me and my wife,\u201d the royal told Cooper in a preview of the sit-down interview<\/a>. \u201cThey will feed, or have a conversation with the correspondent, and that correspondent will literally be spoon fed information to write the story. And at the bottom of it, they will say that they\u2019ve reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment. But the whole story is Buckingham Palace commenting. So, when we\u2019re being told for the last six years, \u2018We can\u2019t put a statement out to protect you,\u2019 but you do it for other members of the family \u2014 there becomes a point when silence is betrayal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prince Harry also sat down with ITV News\u2019 Tom Bradby in an interview set to air on Jan. 8. In a sneak peek clip of Harry: The Interview<\/em><\/a>, the Duke explains, \u201cIt never needed to be this way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI want a family. Not an institution,\u201d said Prince Harry. \u201cThey feel as though it\u2019s better to keep us, somehow, as the villains,\u201d seemingly referring to the royal family.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cThey\u2019ve shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile.”<\/p>\n

The Duke touched upon his relationship with his father, King Charles III<\/a>, and his brother, William, the Prince of Wales<\/a>. \u201cI would like to get my father back,\u201d Prince Harry said. \u201cI would like to have my brother back.\u201d<\/p>\n

ITV News presenter, Bradby famously interviewed the Sussexes for the Harry & Meghan: An African Journey<\/em><\/a> documentary during their 2019 Africa tour, where he asked Markle how she had been mentally coping with the negative press.<\/p>\n

Published by Penguin Random House, Prince Harry\u2019s new book Spare<\/em><\/a> will be released on Jan.
