Dolly Parton has given the world so many gifts over the years. From her medley of greatest hits, to a beloved theme park, Dollywood. She’s donated millions of books through her Imagination Library, and don’t forget that she helped fund Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine. But there’s one thing she’s upset she can’t share with her fans yet \u2014 and that’s a new song she wrote that no one can listen to.<\/p>\n

During an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/em><\/a>, the 76-year-old icon explained that she really regrets burying away music that can’t be opened until 2045. “It has drove me crazy,” she shared. “I’ve written a song that no one’s going to hear ’til I’m 99 years old and I might be there, I might not be, but it’s when we did Dollywood, when we reworked that, and we put it in a time capsule.”<\/p>\n

She explained that she put in things that “had to do with the times” which included a cassette player, CD player, and a brand new song no one has heard. “You have no idea how that has bothered me. I want to go dig that up so bad. It’s a really good song.”<\/p>\n

So who’s to blame? She says she doesn’t know “whose damn idea that was.”<\/p>\n

The legendary songwriter has won 11 Grammy Awards (she’s been nominated 50 times) and earned the Grammys Lifetime Achievement Award. She also is one of the few entertainers to have been nominated for an Academy Award, Grammy Award, Tony Award and Emmy Award. Earlier this year, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She initially declined<\/a> to be included but later came around.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019ll accept gracefully. I would just say thanks and I\u2019ll accept it because the fans vote,” she told NPR.<\/a> \u201cWhen I said that, it was always my belief that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was for the people in rock music, and I have found out lately that it\u2019s not necessarily that. So I just felt like I would be taking away from someone that maybe deserved it, certainly more than me, because I never considered myself a rock artist. But obviously, there\u2019s more to it than that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Next up for Parton is hosting the NBC special Miley\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve Party <\/em>alongside her goddaughter Miley Cyrus.<\/a> Parton is taking the role Pete Davidson filled last year.<\/p>\n

In the promo video<\/a> Cyrus said: \u201cMiley\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve Party\u00a0<\/em>is about getting glamorous and dressing your best.” Parton responded, \u201cWell, we do that every day, don\u2019t we Miley?\u201d To which Cyrus added, \u201cYou taught me well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miley\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve Party<\/em> will air live on NBC from Miami on Dec. 31 from 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET and will also be streaming live on
