The public awareness campaign series Bridging the Gap<\/em><\/a> breaks down various misconceptions about Down syndrome by showcasing the many talents and capabilities of people with the condition. Recently, the National Down Syndrome Society<\/a> (NDSS) and production company Fashion\u2019s Fight united for a celebrity non-profit campaign, where they created a three-part PSA series connecting A-listers with individuals who have Down syndrome.<\/p>\n

The groups tapped none other than NSYNC\u2019s Lance Bass to join 26-year-old fashion designer and stylist Brandon Gruber, who has Down syndrome, for a NDSS PSA. Gruber told the former boyband star that he\u2019d been designing since the seventh grade, and in the accompanying video, showed off his newspaper-printed vests and designs and taught Bass a thing or two about his runway walk.<\/p>\n

In photographs shot by Pat Batellini, Bass held a chalk board sign reading, \u201cThis is my look for today\u2019s shoot,\u201d while Gruber held one reading, \u201cI\u2019m the designer.\u201d<\/p>\n

EXTRA TV<\/em><\/a> joined the pair on set and Bass told the outlet: \u201cLove this campaign. It\u2019s all about inclusion and you know, not fitting people in a certain box. Both of us have felt that way our whole lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gruber explained that it was \u201cquite big\u201d for him to be able to style the pop star in his designs. And Bass also gushed about Gruber, saying, \u201cSeeing him do what he does in his element \u2014 he\u2019s so happy and it\u2019s admirable\u2026 we can do whatever we want to do, and nothing can hold us back.\u201d<\/p>\n
