Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani’s recent hair malfunction has taken over social media, as well as… my life? Like every other individual who writes about beauty for a living, I’m having difficulty grasping\u00a0<\/span>how\u00a0<\/span><\/em>this happened. Did he use new temporary hair dye? Was his hairstylist out of town for the weekend? Did he do it himself<\/a>? Whatever the case may be, I fear that someone’s job might be hanging on by a thread \u2014 a very, very, thin one.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you missed it, some sort of brown hair dye, be it “permanent” or temporary, bled down Donald Trump’s personal attorney’s face while conducting a news conference at the Republican National Committee on Thursday, November 19. While speaking to the press, the liquid leaked down the side of Giuliani’s face. Mixed with sweat droplets, the situation was, to say the very least, a sight to behold \u2014 and even photographers seemingly had a field day capturing the moment on camera.<\/p>\n

It’s speculated that the malfunction could have been caused by a bad hair dye job<\/a> or a temporary color touch-up that didn’t have enough time to dry thoroughly. “What went wrong was someone applied non-water-resistant temporary hair color,” New York City-based celebrity and private hairstylist Jay Scott Jackson<\/a> tells GRAZIA<\/em>. “At first, I thought he was experiencing an Ariana Grande<\/a> spray tan moment, but then I saw it coming from the temples, and you can see that it’s a temporary hair dye that was meant to be washed out when he got home.”<\/p>\n

Another reason Giuliani’s hair color might have bled<\/span> was not taking the appropriate measures post-application. “You can lock in the color with hairspray,” says Jackson, noting that Giuliani’s <\/span>hairstylist may have forgotten this step, which is especially crucial if you’re using a powder formula.<\/p>\n
