If you’ve been keeping up with every new development<\/a> to Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a>\u2019s highly anticipated Netflix docuseries<\/a>, then do we have news for you! After conflicting reports<\/a> as to whether the series would actually air in December amid controversy over the latest season of The Crown<\/em><\/a>, Page Six<\/em><\/a> reported that the docuseries will be available to stream on Netflix beginning Dec. 8.<\/p>\n

Netflix has yet to confirm the date, but if true, it would follow the buzz being received from the streamer’s new season of The Crown<\/em> (catch up on episode recaps here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex finalized a multimillion-dollar, multi-year deal with the streamer in September 2020 for media comprising of documentary projects, feature films, television series, and programming for children, according to the New York Times<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, the couple began filming the docuseries in question, causing many to believe the show will highlight the couple\u2019s life over the last two years. The series was originally dubbed Chapters<\/em>, per Page Six<\/em><\/a>, but the title has since been changed. Speaking with The Cut<\/em><\/a> this summer, Markle confirmed the story will follow, \u201cthe piece of my life I haven\u2019t been able to share, that people haven\u2019t been able to see \u2013 our love story.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Sussexes reportedly replaced<\/a> the original director, Garrett Bradley over creative differences, and signed on Academy Award-nominated documentary filmmaker Liz Garbus, known for Love, Marilyn <\/em>(2012) and What Happened, Miss Simone? <\/em>(2015). <\/em><\/p>\n

Speaking with Variety<\/em><\/a> in October, Markle said, \u201cIt\u2019s nice to be able to trust someone with our story \u2013 a seasoned director whose work I\u2019ve long admired \u2013 even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it.\u201d She continued, \u201cBut that\u2019s not why we\u2019re telling it. We\u2019re trusting out story to someone else, and that means it will go through their lens.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sources have claimed the couple are unhappy with their portrayal, and even had second thoughts<\/a> on its release, while others have reported that Harry and Meghan wanted to adjust some of their statements<\/a> about the royal family in light of Queen Elizabeth II<\/a>\u2019s recent passing.<\/p>\n

Some have even reported that Prince Harry\u2019s tell-all memoir Spare<\/em><\/a> \u201ccontradicts\u201d some of the claims the couple have made in the series. The book is currently set for a January 2023 release date.<\/p>\n
