Series creator Peter Morgan is not one to rush and thus our wait for season 5 of The Crown\u00a0<\/em><\/a>has been a long two years. With just under three weeks to go until the new installment arrives to Netflix, we’ve finally received the official trailer starring series newcomers Imelda Staunton, Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West.<\/p>\n

The award-winning series picks up from the later years of Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ marriage, who split in 1992 before they eventually divorced in 1995. Played by Debicki, some of the the late-Princess’ most memorable moments are recreated for the silver screen including the debut of that\u00a0<\/em>revenge dress<\/a> and her infamous BBC interview with Martin Bashir.<\/a>\u00a0“I won’t go quietly, I will battle ’till the end,” she says in a brief snippet from the trailer.\u00a0We also receive a first look at West’s Prince Charles and his affair with the now Queen Consort, Camilla.<\/p>\n

While the season will include just 10 episodes, Staunton says there is a lot to cover. “This particular part of history, an awful lot happens,” the actress told Entertainment Weekly <\/em><\/a>in an interview. “There’s a lot of turmoil, which isn’t made up \u2014 these things happened. I think there’s a lot going on for people to take on this time around.”<\/p>\n

Despite the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September, Netflix hasn’t missed a beat in releasing the new season on time. The trailer, coincidentally, also landed the same day UK Prime Minister Liz Truss resigned after just 45 days in parliament. You can’t make this stuff up.<\/p>\n

Filming for season 6 of The Crown\u00a0<\/em>has already commenced. To whet our appetite the streaming platform announced<\/a> in September that Rufus Kampa, Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy will portray Prince William and Kate Middleton respectively in the new season. For now, season 5 will release on November 9.<\/p>\n
