She also shared personal insight into the meaning behind some of the songs, including one inspired by her relationship with actor Joe Alwyn.<\/p>\n<p>Swift has made it a habit of dropping cryptic Easter eggs before her album drops, and this time, she shared the name of the first track, \u201cLavender Haze,\u201d on her TikTok series, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@taylorswift\/video\/7151615415498591534?is_copy_url=1&amp;is_from_webapp=v1&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Midnights Mayhem with Me<\/em><\/a>. Over on Instagram, the Grammy-winner shared further details about how she came up with it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I happened upon the phrase &#8216;Lavender Haze&#8217; when I was watching\u00a0<em>Mad Men<\/em>\u00a0and I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool,\u201d Swift explained. \u201cIt turns out that it was a common phrase that was used in the &#8217;50s where they would just describe being in love. And I think a lot of people have to deal with this now \u2014 not just, like, quote-unquote public figures \u2014 because we live in the era of social media and if the world finds out that you&#8217;re in love with somebody, they&#8217;re gonna weigh in on it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Swift knows exactly what it\u2019s like to have people weigh in on her relationships. The songstress has been romantically linked to <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/stars-at-noon-trailer-margaret-qualley-joe-alwyn\/\"><em>Stars at Noon<\/em><\/a> actor <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/taylor-swift-joe-alwyn-confirmed-engaged\/\">Joe Alwyn<\/a> since 2016, and the couple has remained notoriously private. \u201cMy relationship for six years, we&#8217;ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff, and <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/taylor-swift-joe-alwyn-relationship\/\">we just ignore it<\/a>,&#8221; she shared. &#8220;And so this song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff. I hope you guys like it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Giving her fans another surprise this week, Swift revealed that track four, \u201cSnow on the Beach,\u201d will feature <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/janelle-monae-lana-del-rey-drop-out-of-bonaroo-festival\/\">Lana Del Rey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Swift initially announced that her 10<sup>th<\/sup> studio album was coming while on stage at the <a href=\"https:\/\/graziamagazine.com\/us\/articles\/best-dressed-stars-2022-mtv-vmas\/\">2022 MTV VMAs<\/a>. \u201cI thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out October 21 and I will tell you more at midnight,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>When the clock struck midnight, Swift shared more information about the new album on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Ch1Ed_Su6Qw\/\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a>. \u201c<em>Midnights<\/em>, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21,\u201d she wrote. \u201cMeet me at midnight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-native-ad-list=\"6\">The album cover features the singer examining a lit lighter. \u201cWe lie awake in love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears,\u201d the next slide in her post read. \u201cWe stare at walls and drink until they speak back.
