The stars brought the razzle and dazzle and the glitz and glam to the New York Public Library on Thursday evening for the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s inaugural Albie Awards, hosted by actor George Clooney<\/a> and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.<\/a><\/p>\n

The charitable affair honors brave defenders of justice, from activists to journalists. This year, the event paid homage to Maria Ressa, who was awarded the prize for Justice for Journalists. The organization iAct was granted the Justice for Survivors award for its efforts in supporting survivors of genocide in refugee camps. The event\u2019s namesake, human rights activist Justice Albie Sachs, was honored with a lifetime achievement award, for his work in stopping apartheid in South Africa.<\/p>\n

A brigade of A-listers were on-hand at the inspiring evening including Jodie Turner-Smith, Drew Barrymore, Tracee Ellis Ross and George’s co-star in his latest film, Ticket to Paradise<\/em><\/a>, Julia Roberts, among many others.\u00a0 And every single star didn’t just wear their red carpet-best, they took their style up a few notches, setting out in truly head-turning looks.
