There are certain bags that just get better and better season after season as new iterations are introduced. For Alexander McQueen, that can be found in the brand’s Jewelled Satchel<\/a> design. After launching in 2018, the style has become a pillar of the house of McQueen ever since.<\/p>\n

The bag is actually an evolution of the iconic Skull Four Ring long box clutch designed by the brand’s founder Lee McQueen in 2009. The style evolved to the Jewelled Flat pouch and then to the Jewelled Satchel, which still contains that four-ring hardware design (which was inspired by London street culture) and iconic skull motifs.<\/p>\n

Each season, the Jewelled Satchel continues to evolve and is currently available in three different sizes and in a timeless color palette of various leather treatments. There’s also an adjustable strap in leather and chain to wear long or short. The latest styles were most recently seen on the brand’s Fall-Winter 2022 runway<\/a>, which was staged in New York City in March.<\/p>\n

Alexander McQueen’s creative director Sarah Burton noted that the Fall-Winter 2022 collection \u201chonored\u201d New York City and was also inspired by mycelium, which is a root-like structure of a fungus. \u201cMycelium connects even the rooftop of the tallest skyscraper to the plants, to the grass, to the ground, to animals, and to human beings,” the designer said in a press release.<\/p>\n

Looks in the show featured sustainable leather and knit mushroom spore jacquard, and of course, were accessorized with new Jewelled Satchel designs. Some were covered in spikes, another came in a sleek black patent leather. There’s also a pleated acid green Napa leather and a red and black sprayed printed calf leather in both satchel and mini designs.<\/p>\n

There’s no bag more versatile or iconic than a four-ring clutch from McQueen that will come in, well, clutch<\/em>, time and time again.<\/p>\n
