Temperatures may be dropping as the fall season officially arrives, but in Milan, things are warming up \u2014 figuratively speaking, that is. Milan Fashion Week<\/a> is underway and models, celebrities, and fashionable showgoers<\/a> have been spotted in some striking looks out and about in the streets of the Italian capital. The latest look to make us do a double take is from none other than Emily Ratajkowski<\/a>, sporting an early aughts trend that’s been making a slow comeback this year.<\/p>\n

The model was wearing an intentional peek-a-boo thong rising above her Versace low-rise pants with chain motifs paired with a little black cropped long-sleeve top and black sunnies, also from the Italian heritage house. The exposed thong is a nostalgic trend dating back to the 2000s Juicy Couture\/Paris Hilton fashion era.<\/p>\n

The polarizing high-rise-thong, low-rise-jeans trend is undoubtedly making its second (err..third?) wave back into the fashion scene, and Ratajkowski isn’t the only one endorsing it. Over the summer Bella Hadid stepped out in the streets of New York in a peek-a-boo thong paired with leather pants. Meanwhile, earlier this year, 2022 breakout style star Julia Fox wore the exposed risqu\u00e9 trend while out on a date with ex-beau Kanye West.<\/p>\n

It was rumored that the model was heading to a fitting at Versace \u2014 which seems to check out seeing as she walked the label’s runway<\/a> in past seasons and starred in its campaigns. (Plus, she was wearing the brand’s iconic chain-printed pants.) The model has been having a busy Fashion Month. She just walked the runways at Nensi Dojaka and J.W. Anderson<\/a> in London, and kicked it all off in New York at Tory Burch<\/a>.<\/p>\n
