Kate Middleton<\/a> honored Queen Elizabeth II<\/a> at the monarch’s funeral<\/a> on Sept. 19 by wearing special jewelry that once belonged to the Queen.<\/p>\n

The Princess of Wales, 40, attended the service at Westminster Abbey wearing a four-strand pearl choker necklace with diamond clasp at the center and Bahrain pearl drop earrings.<\/p>\n

The earrings were gifted to the Queen on her wedding day in 1947 by Hakim of Bahrain. The late monarch previously wore the necklace in 1983 to a state banquet in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the first time Kate has worn either piece. She was spotted in the earrings in June during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and wore the choker to Prince Phillip’s funeral in April 2021 and to a celebration for the Queen and Prince Phillip’s wedding anniversary in 2017.<\/p>\n

As the family has mourned the loss of Britain’s longest reigning monarch, Kate has worn other special pieces from her late grandmother-in-law. Last week, when Kate attended a service for Queen Elizabeth where the family gave their final farewells ahead of the funeral, she chose a white diamond and pearl pin on the lapel of her coat which was worn by the Queen. Throughout the past week she also wore a pair of pearl drop earrings from the Queen.<\/p>\n
