In a new interview<\/a> Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/a> has recalled the simple career advice that Leonardo DiCaprio<\/a> shared when they first met in 2018. The pair went on to star in the dark comedy film Don’t Look Up<\/a>.<\/em> Funnily enough it has nothing to do with the age of women. Who would have thought. According to Chalamet, the Oscar-winning actor said, “No hard drugs and no superhero movies.”<\/p>\n

In a candid discussion to promote his upcoming film\u00a0Wonka<\/em>, the 26-year-old went on to reveal that he never imagined his career would take off like it did. Despite having “delusion” dreams of a career in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

“And in my late teenage years, working on Homeland<\/em> and starting to do theatre in New York, I felt like I reduced my goal to something more realistic, which was to work in theatre and hopefully make enough money doing either a TV show or something I could sustain myself [with],” Chalamet explained to the publication. “And then it felt like every dream came true, exponentially. And then life is moving at six million miles per hour.”<\/p>\n

After appearing in classic films such as\u00a0Call Me By Your Name,<\/em>\u00a0the Wes Anderson art film\u00a0The French Dispatch<\/em> and blockbusters such as\u00a0The King\u00a0<\/em>and Dune,\u00a0<\/em>the internet had seemingly mixed reactions<\/a> to his upcoming modern spin-off of Willy Wonka. The upcoming film is set to detail the early years of the factory owner and according to Chalamet is quite a “joyous” film.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know what\u2019s really funny about that, is it\u2019s so misleading. This movie is so sincere, it\u2019s so joyous,” he said, also noting that he will be singing and dancing within the film.<\/p>\n

It’s a far cry from his most recent film\u00a0Bones and All\u00a0<\/em>which was premiered at Venice Film Festival last week. In reflecting on the film he spoke of “societal collapse”<\/a> and an “intensely judged”
