The premiere of\u00a0Ticket to Paradise<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is fast approaching as Julia Roberts<\/a> makes her long awaited return to the romantic comedy genre. Alongside the actress is George Clooney<\/a> who will portray her estranged ex-husband as they reunite for the controversial wedding of their daughter in Bali.<\/p>\n

In a wholesome interview with the\u00a0New York Times<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>the two co-stars joked about the kiss they share in the film and admitted it took a long time to get right, “like, six months.” “Yeah. I told my wife, ‘It took 80 takes,'” Clooney told the publication. “She was like, ‘What the hell?'”<\/p>\n

“It took 79 takes of us laughing and then the one take of us kissing,” Roberts added. Clooney responded, “Well, we had to get it right.”<\/p>\n

Similarly to Roberts, Clooney said he hadn’t filmed a rom-com since One Fine Day.<\/em> “I haven’t succeeded like Julia has in that forum,” Clooney said, “but I read it and thought, ‘Well, if Jules is up for it, I think this could be fun.'”<\/p>\n

Roberts echoed this same notion and told the publication that\u00a0Ticket to Paradise <\/em>“somehow only made sense with George, just based on our chemistry.”<\/p>\n

The actress who is best known for her appearances in films like Pretty Woman\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0My Best Friend’s Wedding,\u00a0<\/em>explained in an earlier interview that she stopped making rom-coms because of the scripts. \u201cIf I had read something that I thought was that Notting Hill<\/em> level of writing or My Best Friend\u2019s Wedding<\/em> level of madcap fun, I would do it. They didn\u2019t exist until this movie that I just did that Ol Parker wrote and directed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Ticket to Paradise\u00a0<\/em>hits theaters Oct. 21.<\/p>\n
