In the famous word of Cindy Crawford<\/a>, “Black tie is the norm for most award shows, but at the MTV Awards black tie is interpreted a little bit more creatively.” The year was 1992 and the supermodel was tasked with all-access red carpet interviews discussing all the fashion of the early ’90s. She was famously dressed in a Versace gown from the then-current Miss S&M\u00a0<\/em>collection (Dua Lipa would go on to wear the same dress at the 2022 Grammy Awards<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Her interviewees however were a little more on the relaxed side, a reflection of the sartorial era. There was no social media, influencers and sponsorships. Just unadulterated style that was often purchased straight off the rack. Crawford shared a throwback video on the anniversary of the VMAs \u2014 formally known as the MTV Awards \u2014 via social media overnight and it’s a blast from the past.<\/p>\n
