Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck <\/a>tied the knot for the second time on August 20 at Affleck\u2019s Georgia estate. While many celebrities were in attendance, The King of Queens<\/em> alum (and Lopez’s close friend) Leah Remini<\/a> was notably absent.<\/p>\n

Stars like Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes were reported to have been at the ceremony, but fans began to wonder where Remini was. This week TMZ<\/em><\/a> reported that Remini skipped the wedding to spend time with her 18-year-old daughter, Sofia Bella Pagan, who is preparing to leave for college. In an October 2021 appearance on Ellen<\/em>, Remini discussed her daughter moving on to college, tearing up and saying, \u201cI can\u2019t even take the thought of her leaving.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the outlet, Remini was invited to the ceremony, and that she and Lopez are still \u201cvery close\u201d and consider themselves like \u201csisters.\u201d<\/p>\n

Friends since 2004, the two actresses met through Lopez\u2019s ex-husband Marc Anthony at the premiere of the film Man on Fire<\/em>. The pair went on to star alongside one another in the 2018 flick Second Act<\/em>. When doing press for the film, the dynamic duo spoke to Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a> and reminisced on how they met.<\/p>\n

“We fell in love right there,” Lopez said. “It was one of those instant chemistry things where you just feel like, ‘I love this person. I love being around this person. This person makes me laugh.’ She’s so cool and we also have very similar upbringings. That’s why we work well together.”<\/p>\n

Remini seemingly has been supportive of Bennifer since the early days of their reunion \u2014 because the actress shared the snap that dubbed the famous couple \u201cInstagram official<\/a>” when she posted photos from her 51st<\/sup> birthday bash, where Affleck and Lopez were guests.<\/p>\n
